STUDY OF THE PROCESS OF ELECTROREDUCTION OF ANTIMONY IONS FROM AN ACIDIC ELECTROLYTE

The process of electroreduction of antimony ions from an acidic electrolyte was studied. The potential range of electroreduction of antimony ions at various electrodes was determined by plotting cyclic polarization curves. The influence of several factors on the electroreduction process of antimony was also studied. It was found that increasing the temperature increases the rate of electroreduction of antimony ions. Moreover, polarization curves were plotted using a rotating platinum disk electrode. The data obtained, namely the linear dependence of ip on the electrode rotation speed (ω), confirm that the process of electroreduction of antimony ions is accompanied by diffusion kinetics. The dependence of current density on the electrode rotation speed at different potentials also confirms this result.
