OXIDATIVE CHLORINATION OF POLYETHYLENE in aqueous SUSPENSION
The reaction of low-temperature oxidative chlorination of polyethylene (PE) with use of mixture of HCl and H2O2 (or HCl + NaOCl) as a chlorinating agent has been studied. It has been established that a degree of chlorination of PE may be regulated within the range of 0.7–23.5 mass % by change of oxidizer quantity. In case of using sulfuric acid as a catalyst, consumption of hydrochloric acid decreases more than two times.
